As the days get longer and the temperatures go up, so the Clinton County church picnics begin! Everyone wants to get out and enjoy these sunny days and many of our local churches are happy to call themselves hosts. We can look forward to these upcoming events:
- St. Dominic Catholic Church: Saturday, June 15
493 N. Second Street, Breese, IL
Back again, St. Dominic is hosting their annual picnic! From 3:30pm to 7:30pm, come enjoy fried chicken and roast beef meals, with delicious side dishes. Mass begins at 4:30pm, then Quilt Bingo at 6:30pm. $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 6-12, and kids under 5 are free. Activities include quilt bingo, dinner, and cake wheel!
- St. Anthony’s Parish: Saturday June 29
493 N. Second Street, Beckemeyer, IL
Mark your calendars for this one, St. Anthony’s annual picnic will feature fried chicken and mostaccioli with homemade dressing. Dinner will be held in the hall, from 4:00-7:00pm, Mass at 5:30pm, and Quilt Bingo at 7:00pm. Inflatables, kids stands, penny raffle, cake wheel, and basket stands will round out the rest of the night!
- St. Mary’s Catholic Church: Saturday, July 27
218 West Kentucky Street, Trenton, IL
Joining in on the fun, St. Mary Church is hosting dinner from 3:30pm-7:00pm. There will be both Quilt and Cash Bingo held at 6:30pm in the refreshing, air conditioned hall. Join us also for a cake wheel, basket stand, and kids inflatables.
- St. Francis Catholic Church: Saturday, August 3
251 S. Clinton, Aviston
If you love live music and raffles, this is the church picnic to save the date for! Join us for roast beef and fried chicken from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, as well as quilt bingo, rides and games.
- St. Rose: Saturday, August 10

Dinner starts at 3:00pm, and get here quick because St. Rose’s picnic dinner features an “All You Can Eat” chicken and roast beef dinner in the air conditioned hall, then into the night with a craft fair, games, rides, and Quilt Bingo at 6:30pm.
- St. George Parish: Saturday August 10
200 North 3rd Street, New Baden, IL
Last but certainly not least, the annual St. George Picnic Dinner will be from 3:00pm-7:00pm. Polka Mass begins at 4:00pm, then Quilt Bingo at 6:30pm. Fish plates, sandwiches, a chicken dinner, and homemade pies will be offered for hungry bellies. After dinner, raffles and games are held!
