Tricks, treats and spooky trails highlight two weekends of Halloween fun here in Clinton County. So get your costume ready and check out these out.
Hiking turns frightful when you hit the Haunted Trail at Carlyle Lake, where-boo! you never know what spooky spots await along the way. The fun starts with a hayride from the Carlyle McDonald’s to the little Prairie Nature Trail where the scary trek begins.

More frights can be found at the Haunted Trail in Trenton, Illinois. For two weekends visitors can experience ghosts and goblins and other eerie sights along a well-planned path. The event, which is sponsored by the Trenton Sportsman’s Club, will have food and drinks available as well.

Treats, not tricks, will be found at the Carlyle 2016 Business Trick or Treat the Monday after Halloween. Children 12 and under can participate by dressing in costume and then looking for the orange ghost in participating businesses’ windows. These are the places they’ll find a sweet treat.
