Calling all car buffs! Polish up your prized auto, truck or custom bike and head to Carlyle Lake, Illinois, for the 2016 Cruisin’ the Dam on Friday, August 12, 2016.
This is the largest gathering of classic cars in the St. Louis metro area, and it’s right here in Clinton County, home of the largest manmade lake in the state! The annual summer event, sponsored by Carl’s Four Wheel Drive and Motorsport Productions, is a favorite of geer geeks, offering a chance to check out all types of vehicles, including classic cars, stock cars, drag cars and custom bikes. And for everyone, this free event is a great way to enjoy a fun day at the lake with the entire family.
Main activities will be held at Mariner’s Village at the lake, starting at 4:30 p.m. Here there will be vendors, games, auctions, food, a Rockin’ Radio Review and of course, cool cars. For those who are cruising or wanting to watch the procession, the first cruise will leave Carl’s Four Wheel Drive in Bartelso at 4:30 p.m. to head to the lake. The second cruise will drive across the Carlyle Lake’s main dam at 9:30 p.m.
The first 50 participants at Carl’s Four Wheel Drive will win dash plaques. There will also be attendance prizes for everyone at the lake and a 50/50 drawing.
