It’s hard to imagine that another summer is winding down. But as much as we hate to see it end ,we look forward to Labor Day weekend because, around here in Clinton County, that means fun!
Carlyle Lake, the largest man-made lake in Illinois, will be the center of the activity on Saturday, September 5, 2015, with the 2015 Fireworks Spectacular Jam Dam. So grab your blankets, lawn chairs and coolers, and bring the family for a pleasure-filled day.
If you’re feeling artistic, you can enter the Sand Castle Contest. More the athletic sort? There’s a volleyball tournament that’ll test your skill. Plus great beaches, playgrounds for the kids, boat ramps and courtesy docks, food vendors, and lots of places to fish.
There’ll also be live music to entertain you, starting at 1:00 p.m. and continuing into the evening, which will be capped off by fireworks. Due to weather, the Fourth of July fireworks were postponed, so the fabulous sky show to will cap off this fest instead! Enjoy the show from a boat on the lake, or on the shores of the Dame West and Dam East recreation areas.
